About this site
Rogers Centre (originally SkyDome) is the home stadium of the Toronto Blue Jays and features one of the world's most iconic retractable roofs. Whether the dome is open or closed on any given day depends on three things: is there a Blue Jays home game, what's the Toronto weather at first pitch, and is there a concert or other non-baseball event using the stage. This site automatically checks all three every 15 minutes and computes a live yes-or-no answer.
The Blue Jays organization typically opens the Rogers Centre retractable roof when temperatures are above roughly 14°C (57°F), there's no rain in the forecast, and winds are calm. Below that, or when weather is changing fast, they keep it closed. The actual call is made by Jays operations staff about 90 minutes before first pitch. This site uses the same signals they do — live Toronto weather from Open-Meteo, the MLB Stats API for the home schedule, and Ticketmaster for non-baseball events — to give fans a heads-up answer hours before the official decision.

How do you decide YES or NO?
We auto-check three things: (1) Is there a Blue Jays home game today? (via MLB Stats API) (2) What's the Toronto weather at game time? (via Open-Meteo) (3) Is there a concert or other event at Rogers Centre tonight? (via Ticketmaster). If there's a home game, good weather, and no other event → YES. Any other situation → NO. The actual Jays organization decides the roof ~90 minutes before first pitch, so we're making an educated guess.

Where does the weather data come from?
Open-Meteo. Free, no API key, reasonably accurate for Toronto. We use the hourly forecast at game time when there's a home game, or current conditions otherwise.
My Jays game isn't showing up.
We only show HOME games (Rogers Centre). Road games don't trigger a YES because the Toronto roof obviously isn't the question there. Also, refresh the page — the data caches for 15 minutes.
